Think College Now (TCN) is an elementary school in East Oakland. Our introduction to the school came when David Silver, the founding principal of TCN was awarded a Rotary Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship to study language, culture and education systems in Mexico.
After his return from his scholarship term in 2006, the Rotary Club of Oakland Uptown began collaborating with the school. David has since moved on to other education in Oakland related projects but Oakland Uptown has stayed a partner of TCN.
Over the years, Oakland Uptown has donated to the students and the school, dictionaries, reading books, and library supplies. Most recently, our donations have focused on Language and Literacy software to help newcomer students learn and adapt to English instruction in the classroom.
